The European Week of Regions and Cities (ERWC) is taking place in Brussels from 7-10 October 2019. During this annual four-day event cities and regions showcase their capacity to create growth and jobs, implement European Union cohesion policy, and prove the importance of the local and regional level for good European governance.
The Interreg MED thematic communities & projects will be attending EWRC 2019 and will organize a participatory lab, a workshop and parallel events:
On 8th of October 2019 the 2019 Interreg Project Slam is taking place, bigger and better than ever, thanks to Interreg programmes signing up in record numbers. Aristoil project is one of the 8 finalists to appear on stage!
During the same day, the partnership of CreaInnovation project is organizing a public event ‘’The 21st Century Demand for Creative Entrepreneurship and How to Take Advantage’’, to present solutions developed by project partners, good practices from SMEs and recommendations by experts in the field of creativity, innovation and sustainability. The event is open and free, registration is required.
On 9th of October 2019 the Interreg MED Communities organize a participatory lab "INTERREG MED PIAZZA: where citizens and EU Institutions meet for the future of Europe", from 11.30am to 1pm at Building SQUARE - Brussels Convention Centre. The Interreg MED Piazza offers the experience of a holistic and multi-stakeholder policymaking process through the participation in interactive activities, such as games and debates focusing on strategies for a greener, smarter and more connected future for Europe.
Later the same day, from 2.30pm to 4pm, the EWRC side event EMPOWERING TERRITORIES FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE FOR THE MEDITERRANEAN will be organized reflecting the type of actions undertaken by projects and the testimony of local authorities involved in pilot projects of Interreg MED projects.
On 10th of October 2019 the Green Growth Community organized the session “SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN LOCAL GOVERNMENTS”, focusing on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in regions and cities, including inspirational experiences with an intervention from the Green Growth community. The session will take place from 2pm to 5pm at 14 Rond-Point Schuman. No registration needed.
Over the years, the event has grown into the key event on EU Regional Policy. It welcomes some 6.000 participants in October each year (local, regional, national and European decision-makers and experts) for more than 100 workshops and debates, exhibitions and networking opportunities.
